Student Life
Arts & Music
The arts and music program at Sacred Heart is part of every student’s week, not an elective a handful of children opt into.
Every student from PreK3 through eighth grade has art class once a week with a specialist, studying art history and criticism alongside their own painting, drawing, and sculpture. Music runs on the same schedule, moving from classroom instruments and note reading in the early grades to choir and our award-winning band program, where students in fourth through eighth grade take weekly lessons during the school day. A child who starts here in preschool does not sample the arts. They build a decade of them.

The Music program focuses on the proper use of classroom instruments and an introduction to note reading. Dancing, movement, and creative listening activities are part of music lessons, and students are encouraged to display their creativity through singing, dancing, or instrumental performance.
